Tucson Pediatrics Office Policies

Office Hours
Regular hours for scheduled well and sick child visits are from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Phone calls to make appointments are accepted starting at 8am Monday through Friday.

What to Bring to Your Appointment:
You must bring a valid insurance card and your co-payment (if applicable) to our office for each appointment. It is also recommended to bring your child's immunization record to any well-check appointment.  If you do not have your card or you have new insurance and have not yet received your insurance card, you will need the following information: Insurance company name; claim address; co-payment amount; policy holder name; policy number; group number; and suffix.

Walk-in Appointments
We do allow walk-in appointments if the schedule allows. However, please call the office to be sure there is enough time to see your child. Please make an appointment before coming to the office or we may not be able to see your child.

Telephone
We encourage you to use the phone during office hours. Some problems may be solved with the doctor's advice over the telephone, saving you the time and cost of a visit.  We are happy to provide this service, but it is against the policy of this office to treat by phone unless you are calling for a medicine refill or a referral to a specialist.  Whenever the office is open, the doctor may be reached by calling our office number, (520) 325-2684. For after hours, call the same number and you will be connected to the Doctor on call through our answering service.
Please call at any hour if you feel your child is seriously ill, but please try to save any routine non-emergency calls for our regular office hours.

Well-Checks:
Please try to make summer well-check appointments for school, sports, or camp physicals with plenty of advance notice.  Our office is very busy with these types of appointments during the summer months and may not be able to accommodate you on short notice.  Please bring your child's immunization record with you to well-check appointments.

Immunization Records and Physical Forms:
There is a 48-hour time period and an additional $5 fee for filling these forms unless you bring them with you at the time of your well check appointment.

No-Shows and Late-Shows:
If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please call our office to cancel as far in advance as possible so that we can schedule another patient in that time slot.  We will try to give you a reminder call 24 to 48 hours prior to scheduled visits to let you know that your child has an appointment.  If you are over 15 minutes late for an appointment, we may re-schedule your appointment on a future date in order to keep our regular schedule unaffected.  If you miss an appointment without canceling, we will charge you a missed-appointment fee of $5, charged separately from your health care charges.
